The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has commissioned a state-of-the-art podcast studio as part of efforts to strengthen insurance awareness, reshape public perception of the industry, and deepen insurance penetration across the country through digital communication.
Speaking at the official commissioning of the NIA Podcast Studio ‘NIA Pulse‘ at the Insurers House, Victoria Island in Lagos, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Kunle Ahmed, described the facility as a landmark investment that marks the industry’s transition into a new era of digital storytelling and public engagement.
Ahmed said the initiative was designed to address the long-standing challenge of low insurance literacy by providing a dedicated platform to educate Nigerians, simplify insurance concepts, and promote the industry’s contributions to national economic development.
According to him, the association is taking ownership of its narrative by embracing modern communication channels that resonate with Nigeria’s growing digital population.
“The media landscape has evolved, and traditional corporate communication channels are no longer sufficient. We must meet our audience where they are—on their smartphones, in their cars, on their headphones, and across their favourite digital platforms,” he said.
He explained that the podcast studio will serve as a multi-functional communication hub where insurance experts, member companies and industry leaders can discuss insurance products, regulatory developments, market innovations and key macroeconomic issues in formats that are easily understood by the public.
Ahmed added that the facility would also foster collaboration among insurance stakeholders and partners within the broader financial services ecosystem, creating a unified industry voice while helping to dispel misconceptions about insurance.
Describing the studio as an asset for the entire industry, he said it would support high-quality audio and video productions capable of engaging wider audiences and attracting new customers across different demographic groups.
The NIA chairman commended the Association’s Director-General and Secretariat for their commitment to delivering the project, expressing confidence that it would generate lasting educational and branding benefits for the industry.
