The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) recently welcomed the leadership of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), led by its President, Engr. Leye Kupoluyi, on a courtesy visit to the Association’s Secretariat in Lagos.
The delegation was received by the Chairman of the NIA, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, the Director-General, Mrs. Bola Odukale, and other members of the Association’s leadership team.
The engagement provided an opportunity for both organisations to explore areas of strategic collaboration and mutual interest, with discussions focusing on business advocacy, insurance awareness, enterprise resilience, capacity building and support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The discussions also highlighted the critical role of insurance in strengthening the resilience of businesses by providing protection against risks, enabling business continuity and creating an environment that supports sustainable growth.
Of particular importance was the need to deepen insurance awareness and adoption among businesses, especially MSMEs, which form a significant part of Nigeria’s economic landscape. Greater access to appropriate insurance solutions can help businesses manage risks more effectively, protect their investments and build greater confidence to expand and innovate.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to building a stronger partnership that will facilitate knowledge sharing, advocacy, capacity development and initiatives aimed at promoting wider insurance penetration.
The engagement further underscores the shared commitment of the NIA and LCCI to supporting a more resilient business environment, promoting innovation and contributing to inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
